The Picard/Luthor looking hero is close to showing his mug for all of ya. I had a few setbacks in February to March with getting anything regarding it done, but got back on track and have thus far made some great progress. In order to have pages ready to look at, I have done all the various things needed to get it ready for pre-press as well. So, penciling, inking, coloring, lettering and pre-press is being done on each page before it's posted for all to see.

I will have a spot on the net for posting the artwork. Once I get each page posted, I'll throw out a campaign somewhere to fund the actual printing of the first volume. It will be at the least 62 pages of story. If I can add sketches and a remarque page as an added incentive, I'll do it. It'll be 8.5 x just over 4.5 inches (the book) and it'll be in what I would describe as a 'storyboard format'. The best way to explain it is Travis Charest's Space Girl book...it's formatted like that. I love the idea of that. The other things I'm working on, minus a few things I won't divulge, are normal comic book size pages.

I'm back offline for a bit but I hope you all have a glorious Monday and may you reach the expectations and surpass your own goals for this week.
Have a great one folks.

Well for those of you reading this, sorry for the lack of posts (art, journals, etc.) I'm rather busy lately and getting busier. New jobs, new art, and getting pages done not just for my book, but for some others as well...it begins to take up your time, which I'm happy for. As I said in the past, I'm always open for commissions - so don't be shy to contact me if you want one...or more.

I wish you all who read this the best remainder of your week and may you be blessed with health, prosperity and happiness; For you and your families.

Steven E Gordon has a new sketchbook out (I'm trying to get one myself from him) for 15.00 plus I think 5 bucks shipping, not sure. But you can get more information on his blog [link]

Rodolphe Guenoden is doing commissions too! I'm going to try to get an 11x14 outta him.. Pencil. This guy worked on the Animated feature of Sinbad amongst other feature animation films and worked on some MArvel Comic books and I think others as well. The man is awesome. So hit him up if you want one too. Grab him on [link] for more information.

That's about it for now folks!

WOW! What a difference a subscription makes. I haven't been a 'freebie' user for a very long time. I can see why I haven't been too. I don't know how many of you free users can handle all these damned ads and crap. But I gotta tell ya, although having a premium membership is great due to the bells and whistles, it's also a drain on your wallet because let's face it...are you really making anything back from spending that money? Depends on if you're getting commissions hand over fist on the site.

Comic Art Commissions was the same way for me. Granted you could get a paid membership for like 2 bucks a month, if you weren't getting money BACK from the site due to commissions, it was a waste of money. For the record, they did or still do (I don't know if the site is still active) have free memberships. Just don't see the point.

Anyways...nothing really new to report. Still spinning plates and adding more and more each day. We'll see how well my multi tasking abilities are soon enough!

Well I can see my boat has launched but no passengers on my deal. So you can't ever say I never offered up a great deal to anyone. I tried.

I'll do one last deal and then it's back to business. On April 31st, 2013 I will be offering $2.00 sketches on 9x12. Just send me a note on April 31st, 2013 (no day before that) and tell me what you want and I'll sketch it for you.

Hey All -

Thanks to many of you for not giving me much grief lately for no artwork. I appreciate it. Things are going pretty well over here as of right now. Working on a few spinning plates and keeping them spinning. It's difficult but hey, my life wasn't meant to be simple. Tonight I'll be doing another interview with a great podcast which will be posted at some point in time, I'm guessing next week or the week after. Since I've had no luck really talking to fellow artists (That I've tried to talk to about certain issues) I'm going to be asking questions rather than answering them. Or at least asking more questions than I receive. Which is a great thing for me. There's always something a person will learn as long as they keep an open mind and are positive about whatever is around them. You can take a bad experience (Which I have) and turn it into a learning experience (Which I did) and gain more knowledge in that instance (which again, I did) than sitting for days reading a book that follows like stereo instructions...or an adobe manual.

Right now, I'm offering up something I have only done once or twice before. 9x12 one character/one color piece. I'm thinking...$25.00 (If you live within the Continental United States.) If you live outside the Continental United States the cost is $30.00 which I will try to add a little more to your pieces...detail, not color lol. If you're interested in this offer which is limited, please send me a NOTE on here and I'll respond in kind with the paypal address and various instructions.

Please remember - No porn.

I'm thinking of inks and a greytone...but I may go inks or pencils and a random color that is more suitable. I honestly just want to test this idea out and see how you all like the direction going. The last two times I did this, I was only offering pencils, and the second time, just inks. I'd like to try this out as it's a bit more enjoyable. Do I have samples of this? Nope, but it's a full figure and it's one color used for the 'detail' of the character. And let's face it...if you look at my price list, this is a friggin steal lol. So if you're interested - Send me a NOTE (not a comment) and I'll get ahold of you.

Hope you all have a great day where you may be.

Some people may start to notice there's a sparseness on the internet pertaining to me today. I'm going to start to redo a few things and not exactly start fresh, but start where I should have awhile ago.

I will have more to talk about later.

With Black Friday Commissions! HA HA! Seriously, I just finished my last three sketch cards I had to do and I'll be scanning today, posting things tonight and working on other stuff I guess tomorrow. I'm taking the rest of the day off though.

I gotta say, it is hard for me to draw troopers of any kind. Not that I won't draw them, I will. Just takes me a little more time because of the bucket heads and armor. It's a difficult process but rewarding when I look at something and see I did a decent job. The other thing with troopers of any kind like the clone troopers...you can look online for a specific one, and if you don't know their outfits well, you can get the wrong image and work on the wrong character. I'm a little fearful that I did that on one of them, but it still looks pretty darn cool what I came up with. What was asked on these last commissions is something I'm going to be offering next year on a higher tier of commissions. I'll work but I'm going to get paid too. So be forewarned about that. Hey you get what you pay for, right?

I also like the fact that I'm adding more stuff into some of these pieces. Sometimes I do find drawing just a character on a piece of board is silly and has no merit. But that's what a lot of people expect, and receive from almost every artist. It's a lot of factors weighed in but sometimes one character with a matrix background works better than something with all the bells and whistles.

I also like the fact that with some of the added details I'm putting into the work, it helps get me prepared for Sonic Jack and my other stories too.
The devil is in the details and he's an ass sometimes, but I gotta take him with the good lol.

alright, you have a good day. I'm off to relax with well...some fun times ahead :)

Be on the lookout if you get contacted by this guy. A number of people have been scammed from him and he's not the only one who's been scammed.

I know, big deal. Tough, read it and enjoy the information!

So I've finished all but 4 Black Friday pieces. I've been packaging (after scanning) and getting them ready for everyone. I'm waiting on one guy to get back to me on his shipping address, but if all else fails, I'll contact the gentleman who commissioned for the piece and see if he wants me to send it to him and he can send it to the new owner of the art. We're cool like that.

I'll be adding some artwork this week still, I know it's a pain in the ass but if you had any idea what I've been put through this past few weeks (months) you'd understand. Don't worry though things will get back to 'normal' eventually. I'll have some new artwork of characters I've designed and working on stories for. Bella A'tti and Sonic Jack will be seen more this coming year I think. Um...I really don't know what else to say except start expecting to see your commissions in your mail!

Well, this weekend took yet another turn for the interesting. News that I wasn't expecting came my way and not entirely for the better. No health issues were discussed, just...other matters. Needless to say my mind was running wild and once again, as accustomed to my lifestyle, I received no answers to my questions. A sliver of sunshine came through that weekend black shroud of discontent though...I got most of my Black Friday commissions finished!
11x17 - Finished
Sketch Cover - Finished
5x7's - Finished
9x12's 1 Finished, 1 in the works
Sketchcards - 2 finished 3 in the works

I spent an entire morning on Saturday (midnight - 9 am) drawing Sylvester Stallone in order to get some work done and I have to say...I'm slowly getting the hang of drawing his face lol. I'm not very good at likenesses so I rarely draw them. However all the characters I do draw, are based (face wise) on people I have photos of but rarely look like said person. It gets the job done, that's all that matters in the end.

My plans for next year are becoming more polished and detailed. I will say that I will have to answer a few questions about what I'll be posting up for sale but it'll be easily explained and hopefully just as easily understood. I'm going to be trying to push towards some different styled artwork as well. Not all the time mind you as Sonic Jack will still be drawn (at least I hope so) as I intended originally. Other stuff will probably take on a new look. We'll see as I'm hoping to get to a point that if I get a commission request, I can just draw it in a random style that the person will enjoy. That's a tricky thing to do but it's been done before.

Anyways...I'm working away on my remaining commissions from Black Friday today and I'll start scanning completed work tonight. I'll post later this week BUT I WARN YOU!!!!! What you see on your screen will look entirely different from when you see the work in person. Sometimes it's because you can see the marker streaks from the scan easier than in person. Other times it's just the line quality looks different. I've tried many things to rectify this problem but never can solve it. Yes, all the work will be watermarked online and not high resolution as always. But if you commission a piece, you get to see the shiny art in your own hands without a watermark. So there's always that to think about.

I really have nothing else to talk about at this time (well, anything I want to talk about in public anyways lol) so I'll leave you with this... a conversation I remember from an old movie.

"Well, I know how you feel, and I've been there myself. Let me see. One time before I made a jump into the night, an old buddy of mine told me something that made me feel a whole lot better. "
"What, what did he say?"
"Well, he said, "You love 'em in blue and you love 'em in red. But most of all you love 'em in blue."
"That's totally inapplicable to anything that's going on here...and it's dumb. Who told you that?"
"You did!"
"But it's wise...VERY wise."

I've whittled the hardest bulk of the commissions from Black Friday down. Now I have a few revisions to do which aren't hard and four pieces that came in late. Shouldn't be but perhaps a weekend to get things done and scanned and then off to their respective owners. Should be a fun time, getting this stuff finished up for all of you and in time for Christmas no less lol. That was what I've been aiming for and why I get down on myself when it comes to being late with commissions. I guess you could say I expect more than is humanly possible from myself. Don't know why either. I never had that attitude instilled in me growing up. Guess I just expect it regardless from me.

Anyways... you have all been kind enough in dealing with my pscyhe profile being made in these journals lately, now let's get to some artwork.

AFTER I get all these commissions done, I'm going to take these widevision cards that I have so many of and start doing some artwork inspired by the Worlds of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria game. I've never played any form of WoW so it should be interesting to see if I can get close to what they show in the game. Also, I'll be drawing up some 11x17 and possibly 11x14 pieces to sell next year as well. Marker stuff, mixed media stuff (God willing) and Digital as well. We'll see what happens as the days go by.

I noticed something interesting on my facebook fan page on Black Friday. The results came in from the 'hits per week' and I normally have between 160 down to 30 hits and Black Friday came it was 563 hits. You should see the graph, it's pretty funny to see that high of a spike. So perhaps facebook wasn't all that bad to us for BF but who knows if I'll keep getting that kind of traffic. I know they cut down the amount of traffic people get in order to 'push' you to promote by paying a fee to get your message out. I refuse to do that and I hope others refuse as well. It's kinda stupid. They already get money from ads and sponsors, they don't need more from us. It's like taxes, do you really feel we need MORE?

Um...oh, yeah with the way facebook is becoming, I'm honestly thinking of getting my own website up and running finally. On the website, I'd have a small gallery that would lead back to here, I believe. I'd have a sell page which would sell more than just artwork...My family has a lot of various items they'd like to sell on ebay but due to fees and the fact none of us like ebay, we'd rather just have it on our own website if possible. Cameras, knick knacks, frames, and whatever else they throw at me. I'd almost be nice to get back into the photography and graphic design stuff for a short time and post these things for sale. Oh and photographic prints of stuff we've photographed (My family used to own a photography studio.)

Sooooo, I think that's all I really have to report at this point in time. I have high hopes this weekend will be a positive one for me with little to no interruptions from negativity. One can only pray though lol.

I want to apologize right now as I'm going to be a little late getting things out to all of you who ordered for Black Friday. I mean no disrespect to any of you as I said I would try to get them out by tomorrow. I'm working on 5 pieces now (some came in late) and I will get those done as soon as possible. I'm working on them as much as I can during the day and night right now. I had some rather personal problems that have been looming over my head for the past three months and I had been patient in getting them resolved as I can only do so much on my end. It has come to my attention that the resolve I was hoping for, isn't going to happen and therefore I can concentrate more on my work again. I apologize for this and although a professional shouldn't let personal life interfere with professional, an artist works with emotion as much as morals. I will continue working on all of this and get them out to you by middle to end of next week for sure. If I can get them out sooner, I will.

Please accept my apology as I don't like doing this to anyone as I know I don't like it being done to me. I understand matters such as what I'm going through can happen to anyone and they are heart wrenching to say the very least. Without going in to any more detail just know that this has been a very trying time on my pscyhe, my emotions, my health, and my work and I had prayed it wouldn't and things would have been resolved faster and more positive. I'm doing the best I can and in the end, I guess that's all we can ask for.

Talk soon with scans to post.

Comfortably numb!

Well okay, so I accidentally deleted the journal skin that was the default for me. I'll learn how to make my own skin at some point. I'm not a fan of coding but I'll learn just to make something that I can use. Um...let's see here. Nothing has really been going on since Friday...I'm trying to get pieces finished today for sending out. I got a late order in, which once again, thank you to all that showed up and ordered. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. I stated earlier that I wasn't overly excited with the outcome which is true, for Black Friday but I want those of you who did show up to know that I did have a great time hanging with you and drawing. It WAS a fun day. I'm going through yet another low moment in life right now and trying to get through that. No health problems this time (well, that's not what I'm worried about anyways) and not worrying about economics of politics or anything like that...it's more personal or intimate to myself and I guess it will just take more time for me to overcome.

Next year (If I'm still around) will be a little different. I'll be working on a new idea I came up with along with possibly doing more artcasts. I can't promise anything and I can't promise that there will be sound in a lot of my artcasts next year. That's boring as hell, I know. But sometimes you just have too much going on and too many problems with connections.

There will be quite a few little deals I'll be coming up with next year just to get rid of some stock that I bought for Black Friday. We'll see how things work out day by day.

Well for now I don't have much else to talk about so I'm going to get back to work.

Have a good one.
